Australian
contemporary artist Jennifer Pinder transforms any blank canvas
into a powerful statement of style and expression. Her success has been driven by a belief in
colour and its immediate impact, a fascination with how something
so simple can trigger our emotions so profoundly. The impact of colour is further enhanced
by the artist's lavish use of texture. With a former career
in the Melbourne fashion industry, Jennifer has an innate
talent for working with fabric and textures. "I love
the way they catch the light, and how that light in turn transforms
the textures into something completely different," she
muses. Her paintings deliberately emulate this - patterns
within patterns are exquisitely revealed from different angles
and in different light. It's an effect created by the heavy
texturing Jennifer applies to her work. Her palette: oil on
canvas.
Jennifer works predominantly
with large pieces, many of which are commissioned. Based in
Sydney, she creates works of art that in turn create houses
with soul.
